Glass Bottles And More
I like to drink my milk from glass
From the dairy that does not produce in mass

The clean sweet taste is just one reason
And the milk is fresh in every season

The products I order come without fail
Delivery that is more reliable than mail

Glass bottles can be rinsed and re-used
Instead of the environment being abused

In addition to milk there is eggnog and cream
My kids think the orange juice tastes like a dream

We really can tell the difference in taste
These products are like those on which I was raised

What more can I say, on these benefits we’re hooked
I am sure there are more, some that I’ve overlooked

Thank you Longmont Dairy for that personal touch
That comes through in your service and to use means so much.

The Day We Forgot the Milk
One day after work, I went to my fridge
For some milk before dinner, I’d just have a smidge.

But the spot where milk bottles usually go
Was empty except for last week’s cookie dough!

I let out a gasp and thought, could it be true?
I’d forgotten the milk, and my husband had too!

I ran to cooler as fast as I could
It was 45 degrees, would my milk still be good?

It had sat on the porch while we’d worked all day,
Just waiting for someone to put it away

I peeled off the lid oh-so tentatively
But it tasted and smelled just as fresh as could be.

We collectively heaved a huge sigh of a relief
A whole week without milk would bring nothing but grief.

Our little milk scare we shall never forget
Now the cooler gets emptied first thing, you bet!

What I think about Milk in Glass Bottles…..
From your glass to
A full sippy cup
Providing all that my daughter needs
To help her grow up.

From your glass to
A splash in my husband’s joe
Gives his coffee just what it needs
To get him on the go.

From your glass to Mom’s
Pudding, cakes, and dinner recipes
Our potato soup isn’t the same
Without Longmont Dairy.

From your glass to the dinner table
One gulp, two….three
I’d never go back to store-bought
It’s liquid gold to me!

“I tries to stay awake…”
clink, clink, clink
my eyes were think with sleep
blink, blink, blink
I awoke from counting sheep
VROOM, Vroom, Vroom
I flew from couch to floor
“moo, moo, moo”
a path to porch I tore
Pray, Pray ,Pray
Did the milkman just replace?
“Yay! Yay! Yay!”
gone were empties from the case!
“Rah! Rah! Rah!”
Six new bottles still did quake
“Wah! Wah! Wah!”
his cold hand I did not shake…

Milk Spies
One day a pair of scoundrels launched a clandestine operation.
Pondering the reward they sought filled them with expectation.
Having been sent by the owners of some other dairy farm.
They’d search the closets for skeletons, and raise public alarm.
Finding the superior quality of the milk difficult to comprehend,
They were sure they could uncover Longmont Dairy’s secrets in the end.
Trained in thwarting complex security, quietly they crept,
Trespassing the interior office where the dairy files were kept.
Meanwhile within a custodial locker, unbeknownst to these two,
Quietly waited CEO, David Boyd, the door slightly askew.
While rifling and rummaging the first man cried, “I’ve found it!”
“These cows receive the purest feed, just no way around it.”
The other. Spying his own find, announced, “To preserve fresh taste,”
“They stow new mild in glass, then deliver with care and haste.
Right then a suspicious officer who’d been patrolling late that night,
Tramped into the dairy office, filling them with fright.
Cornering the intruders as they tried to bolt away,
He prepared them to sojourn the jailhouse for and extended stay.
After hearing everything, Mr. Boyd knew his time was here.
Emerging from concealment, he told the spies, “Do not fear.”
Pulling the officer aside, he whispered, “Sir, may they go,”
“That they may reveal our “secrets” for everyone to know?”
So word spread; competitors’ hopes of victory were dashed.
For everyone knows the milk from Longmont Dairy is simply unsurpassed!”

Grandma’s True Story
(put to verse)

On one sunny summer day
My two grandsons came to play.
Along with them came two boys,
Friends from their neighborhood,
To play with Grandma’s old fashioned toys.
As tummies grew hungry and mouths filled with thirst,
They came to the table, each wanting to be first.
One friend asked my grandson, “What will we have to drink for lunch?”
And my grandson answered that milk was a good hunch.
As the boy made a face that said, I’ll pass!
My grandson said—It’s O.K., my grandma has good milk,
The bottles are glass!

We come from a land far, far away
Where the tumbleweeds roll and the branches sway.
We were tired, hungry, thirsty, and dirty,
Searching for a land so fertile and purdy.
Neither water nor wine could quench our thirst.
We needed something more to make our taste buds burst.
We discovered this land of both mountains and prairie,
And in this oasis we found a jewel—Longmont Dairy.
They left on our porch three bottles of milk,
A taste oh so fresh and as smooth as silk.
Crack open the cooler and find bottles galore
Of that tasty white gold that keeps us screaming for more.
We run inside to tear open the seal,
And for $1.97 a bottle, it sure is a deal.
But wait folks, there’s more… even more than the taste,
For when the bottle is empty there is nothing to waste.
The bottles all say “Please rinse and return”
Preserving our earth—a good lesson to learn.
So there it is…our journey has come to an end,
Longmont Dairy has become our favorite new friend.

Oops, I did it again,
I drank all the milk,
before the weekend.
It just tastes so good,
So cold and so fresh,
It’s those glass bottles,
They are the best.
Each bottle is so clean and clear,
I can see the milk
That I love so dear.
I wouldn’t take it,
Any other way
Milk in glass bottles,
Each and every day!

Ode to Longmont Dairy
WE like or milk
We think it’s swell
And Longmont Dairy
They excel
Delivered fresh
In a clean glass bottles
Please bring it in
And do not dawdle
For left outside
In the warm, hot sun
It turns to curd
Ere’ day is done

Longmont Dairy
Is the best
For all the things
That you request
Enjoy the milk
Enjoy the cheese
Enjoy the cookies
If you please
Rinse bottles emptied
Place out the door
And next week
They’ll be back
With MORE!

Clockwork
Our eyes are closed and all is dark
But we do not have to think
To know it’s Thursday midnight
As into our covers we sink.

And how do we know it’s Thursday?
We’ve just heard the musical ‘clink’
Of our milkman leaving glass bottles
Of the milk we love to drink.
