"Naming the Babies"

calves don't usually have names. Instead they are given numbers. That’s
because all of the information about each calf has to be recorded.. The
calf wears an ear tag, with the number. The calf's record tells how much
the calf weighed, what time it was born and who all of its relatives are.
The farm workers like to see us everyday, so they can keep track of our
growth.
