Maximize Your Workout

It’s time to enjoy our wonderful Colorado summer with warm sunny days and cool evenings. There is no better place to take advantage of outdoor exercise and renew your health goals. Here are some ideas to get your blood pumping by walking, running, isometrics or playing an active yard game.

Make your workout count!

If you’re stressing your muscles (even a little), you need protein to grow them back stronger. Before exercising, load up on protein with Longmont Dairy Pro-to-Go. Add some eggs and bacon to your meal.

Active women need between 81-137 grams of protein each day. Average weight active men need 108-182 grams per day. If you are over 60 years old, or actively lift weights, you may need more. The International Society for Sports Nutrition recommends protein intake at levels higher than the RDA for physically active individuals (1.4–2.0 g/kg/d) *

You can easily hit your first meal protein goal before a workout with LDF Pro-to-Go.

Remember to take your water bottle and hydrate. Many suggest drinking 1 oz x half your body weight per day, consumed before 7 PM. Pro-to-Go and Chocolate milk count too.

After the workout, re-hydrate and refresh with LDF chocolate milk.

Chocolate milk is a preferred recovery drink for many athletes. It had plus it has sugar providing quick recovery energy. It refuels your body, provides you with valuable hydration and electrolytes replenishing the body after intense exercise just as well as (or better than) popular sports drinks.

Fuel Up for summer exercise with Longmont Dairy!
